- Q: Why is it required to apply for a building permit prior to construction?
A: The construction activity is regulated by the City or County. Without applying
for a building permit prior to construction, it could result in (1) the homeowner could
receive a penalty from the City/County and still needs to complete the building permit
application or (2) the city/county could request for demolishing the property without the building permit.
- Q: How could I apply for a building permit?
A: You need to prepare for a set of plans, called "Permit Set". Submit this permit set to the City/County
and then wait for City/County approval. A building permit will be issued after the submitted permit set is approved.
