Zoning Codes or Zoning Regulations are a set of rules utilized by Cities or Counties to regulate the building modification, such as lot coverage ratio, floor area ratio, setback, building height, and etc. Each City has its own zoning code. Therefore, for an exterior addition or new construction project, the first step is finding the zoing code in the city where the project is located.
